Food donation to local charity to help over 500 families in West Michigan

Spring Lake, Michigan, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 – TGW, a leading integrated logistics solutions provider, was able to give back to the community with a food donation that will help over 500 families in West Michigan.

TGW donated a pallet of pasta products that were used at the company’s Technology Center for conveyability testing. “A prospective customer brought in a pallet of their various pasta product to our Technology Center to test how the different sizes, shapes and weights of cases of the product could be conveyed and sorted using TGW products,” said Larry Strayhorn, President of TGW. “Being able to donate this much unused food after the testing was complete was a great opportunity for TGW to help those in need right in our own backyard.”

The product was donated to Love INC of the Tri-Cities (http://www.loveinctricities.org/), who works with 30 to 40 families each day that have some kind of need. According to Love INC Executive Director Eric Morgan, the donation will help stock their food pantries. “TGW’s donation of a pallet of pasta for our food pantries will provide dinner for over 520 families in the Tri-Cities area,” said Morgan. “This comes at a great time as the need is ever-increasing due to our economy. It's generosity like this from TGW that demonstrates the great community that we live in. One of Love INC's values is to enable ‘Our community to help our community’ and this is an excellent demonstration of that very thing.”
